Best deer hunt ever!!!
« on: October 29, 2013, 08:48:19 AM »
Grabbed the kids after work last night and hiked in behind a gate 1 1/2 miles and found this little buck. I've killed many deer and bigger bucks but this is a hunt I will remember for the rest of my life. I have killed many deer with just one kid with me but never both, I wasnt going to take him but the smiles on my kids faces while I was deciding was priceless and the both wanted me to take the buck. I quartered him up then boned out the meat along with all the neck meat and scraps. My 10 year old son took a front shoulder and 1 backstrap and I got the rest in my pack and made our way up the hill and out to the truck in the dark with headlamps(kids thought that was pretty cool)..
A hunt based only on trophies taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be, time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, the animals, and fish that live there”.- Fred bear

It just does not get any better than that!!  That is awesome!  Good job Dad for taking the kids and getting them involved.  I know far too many hunting Dads who feel their kids get in the way.  Love the pics!

  I'd be framing that first picture and putting it up on the wall.  That's great!
