Baiting.....hmmm . I do know this much. When I started baiting 15 years ago in this state, hardly anyone baited or even knew it was legal. I have killed a lot of bucks over bait. To date... 6 pope and young. One over 160" and two over 150". Several does and lesser bucks. All mature but two. Oldest was aged at 8.5 years old. It was easier back when Tom, dick, Harry, and sometime Jane, didn't bait. The game is different now, and more complicated, but NEVER easy. I actually consider myself..... Well a master......baiter! :chuckle:

"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

There is one thing that I am sick of and that is this pole on baiting.  I have killed using bait, and just sat over scrapes and used scents and used a grunt tube and have killed bucks. Tree stands, ground blinds and have used salt licks and so on. It all has a curtain amount of skill, and if you don't pick the skills up you will probably not get anything.

We have to stop judging the way people hunt. If you stop baiting then whats next? They will probably then say its not fair using tree stands or scents or using grunt tubes and rattling.  Remember when you could use hounds for coons and cats and bears, and could bait bears, well that's what you get when you play this kind of judgment game.  Please stop and just enjoy what we have, if your not carefull you will lose more ground for hunting and the way we do it.  If we all embrace each other and the way we hunt we will win in the longrun, or we will all lose in the end.      Good luck in the way you hunt and be safe.

What is it with people, that they have to find fault with the way someone else hunts. Why in the hell don't people just leave people alone and enjoy the hunting. I am so sick of all the laws and the way people are looking at the way other people do things. You don't like something that someone else does and you try to make a law or find a way to make it look bad.   Quit screwing with each other and pay more attention to what the anti hunters are trying to do to our sport. If you put the same energy in that  instead of picking on a way another person hunts we would be better off. :'( >:( >:(    I hate polls and I don't like people that are trying to pit people against each other.   WE  ALREADY  HAVE  PRESIDENT  OBAMA  DOING  THAT.

What gets me is that it is illegal to bait bear and waterfowl but legal to bait deer :dunno: If anything it should be the other way around, especially since bears are hard to hunt and need to be baited to efficiently control them.
Too alot of hunters baiting deer and elk is NOT "Hunting" to them and they see the herds being controlled and conditioned by it.
Sure leave it legal to the handicapped but that's it :twocents:

lol, when they're eating each others feces,I'd say definitely yes it is a bad thing!

Thing is deer don't need to be hunted this way. Spot and stalk is very effective and much more rewarding to the able bodied

lol, last year for the first time. It was the only way I could draw a small buck into my area with all the other baiting competition going on :chuckle:  And it wasn't very satisfying to dump him while he was contently eating an apple either.
But meat is meat I guess :dunno:

So its not for you which is perfectly fine but I just find it wrong that you judge others who do it. I don't care for long range hunting and would never do it myself but don't judge people who do it because they are legal and they enjoy it.  :twocents:

Not trying to judge. Just don't like what I've seen it done to my area's deer population.

And don't judge me if I believe if you're able bodied and you bait that you are missing out on the true experience of hunting :twocents:

I respect your feelings about what it has done to the deer in your area as I have not had any issues with it in my areas.

As for your second statement, you are telling somebody not to judge you while you judge them. Does that seem right/fair? Can't have it both ways. Either we both judge or we both don't judge.  :chuckle:
