I heard she shot a 4 point bull in September on Doug Cambells place in Graham . I am not sure who the outfitter was but my buddies had some runins with him in General elk. He is a bafooooooon. No ethics all money driven. Let an elk lay all night because they made a few bad shots on it and were afraid to collect in so close to the neighbors. He said it will not hurt it to lay all night. My buddy told him it would bone sour. He disagreed. NO CLUE. In freezing weather a dead elk will sour on the ground side if left to lay.
So how does the two over the counter tag deal work???Their are pics of her first elk.

The hunt he was selling was to drive around until the elk were in the field, drive over to the barn, sit behind hay bales and try to shoot it before it went back over the fence to the neighbors. He lied to the other hunters who had permission to hunt their. He was only supposed to hunt monday thru friday, He offered extra money to hunt the weekend. He is really lucky, My buddy was close to putting the squeeze on his pencil neck.

Either that or it's like all the rest of the "Don't ask, don't tell" type of Elk hunting that goes on in this state. ;)

I have her and her dad on Facebook. Jim is hunting in Pakistan. Got some cool goat yesterday. I have met her she is pretty cool .

This thread is probably disturbing to you having met her.

Personally, I wish this thread wouldn't devolve into trashy locker room talk; but not everyone was raised with class or dignity.
I just don't think it serves the H-W community well talking about an upcoming icon in the hunting world in this manner.
This is one of the most pretentious posts I have read in a while.  Lighten up!  No harm was meant, nothing truly offensive was said, it was all in fun.  I have personally met Ms. Shockey and she seems to be a pretty cool, down to earth young woman who would more than likely laugh at these posts.  I guess that not everyone was raised with a sense of humor or the ability to distinguish the difference between " trashy locker room talk" and light hearted goofing around.  None of these posts were meant as any true disrespect to her.  :dunno:
No disrepect, I'm sure she is a fine hunter, but an Icon? I'd put my money on Melissa Bachman over her any day. How the heck would her Shockey let his daughter get hooked up with Shane? Man if you were the Shockeys, and you were researching Elk Hunts on line, how could you look at Barbours website and not piss yourself while laughing so hard?? I'm just sayin!!!

It is possible that that "guide" is a friend of the family or aquaintance.  The Shockeys have a lot of ties all around Washington, Oregon, Idaho, BC, etc.

Ya, Maybe, but if you are highly respected and succesful in the hunting world, I just find it odd that you would want to be aligned with that dude.

Look at Ted Nugent and the crap that he got in for baiting with that guide in California.  Ted is not stupid enough to film a hunt if he knew that it was illegal.   :twocents:
