Good book?
« on: December 05, 2013, 12:21:17 PM »
I'm interested in recommendations for a good beginner's guide to using/shooting muzzleloaders. I'm a very competent hunter, bowhunted since I was a child, lots of shotgunning for birds, a little rifle experience. Toying with the idea of doing a little muzzleloader hunting. Appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

The Complete Blackpowder Handbook:     this one is a good way to start   pretty helpful  lots of good information for the beginner shooters and helpful to those who have been doing it for a long time too

This forum is better than any one book IMO (not saying you shouldn't read books).  That's because our muzzleloader rules are a bit unique here (you can use sabots) so we have more options on choice of twist rate and ammo.
