I have decided to get a muzzy and learn all about how they work and learn to shoot them.

The problem his, I have no idea where to start.  I searched through old posts and didn't see much here.

Can anyone recommend a gun shop that can help me through the process? (I live in Snohomish)  Are there any other resources that can help me?  Maybe a place to find a mentor?

I know I will have to start with a WA legal gun if I decide to hunt one day with it.

Thanks for the help!

I can't personally recommend any shops that are knowledgeable enough to really give that good of advice regarding Muzzle loaders.  It seems that most of the places on this side of the state that sell them aren't exactly experts.  Browse through the Muzzleloader forum on here and I know there are a few others out there also.  The guns themselves can be pretty simple.  All depends on your preference.  I have shot a few different models.  I currently have a Knight Bighorn but haven't gotten to shoot it yet.  Look up Sabotloader on here.  He knows his stuff when it comes to Muzzleloaders.  There are others, but he's the first that comes to mind.  This would have been a better topic for the Muzzleloader board.

Thanks for the input.  I thought this was the best board at the time.  If you have a better board, let me know which one and I will ask the mods to move it.  I did search for a couple of hours and didn't see any basic muzzy posts, but I will try again.

If anyone else has a comment, it would be great to hear it.

Thanks again!

Are you going to hunt with it? If you are, there are specific characteristics it has to have.
