m77 mark 2
« on: December 13, 2013, 11:28:00 PM »
So ive been given a unfired m77 mark 2 243win. I was going to just sell it tell I saw it lol. I have plans to make this my wifes next hunting rifle, ive got to get her to shoulder it and see if the stock needs to be shorter but she saw it and instantly likes it. Im going to sale the mossberg I got her as long as the ruger shoots decent, ive got the cheap mossberg to shoot 1/4 moa with 55bt bt and a little bigger 3/8moa with the 95gr bt. Im going to throw the scope on it and take it to the range to break it in and see how it shoots soon

My 243 is a stainless ruger 77. I love it! Best I have seen mine shoot is 3/4 moa or so. Pretty consistent with 90 and 95 grain ballistic tip or accubond. That's all I've shot though. Probly could get better if I tried different things.

Most likely will need a little trigger work but not hard at all. You can get a lighter spring for less than $10. Lots of info online to help.  Have fun with it.

Get a Timney trigger, makes a world of difference from that 7 lb factory trigger.

I could be wrong but I thought the paddle stock was pre MKII. :dunno:

I much prefer the newer synthetic stock over the paddle. Its a pretty dang good gun. My best load is42.3 grains Iimr4350 with a 95 grain b tip and cci 250. Or 43 grain imr4350 with 90 accubond and cci250.
