1911 Build
« on: January 02, 2014, 07:53:33 AM »
Finished these up awhile ago for a contract build and kept one for myself.  They turned out pretty nice.  Thought you guys might like to see it.

What do you charge for such a build?

What other variations are you considering for future builds?

Are some of the small parts Fusion? And if so, how did the fit the Caspian Frame?

None of the parts are Fusion.  I buy the slide and frame from Caspian oversized so I can fit things together.  The slides are bare with no sight cuts.  All the other parts are oversized as well so they can be fit properly.

Here are the specs:

Caspian Recon frame
Caspian Slide
Schuemann AET barrel
Extreme hammer, disconnect and sear (all polished and tuned)
Wilson Trigger
Tripp Rear Sight, Dawson Fiber Front
Ed Brown Ambi Safety
Ed Brown Beavertail
Full Length Guide Rod
VZ Grips

One thing you can't see is that the barrel is cut flush with the slide and has a nice target crown.  It turned out pretty nice.  I am going to try to make a few more this year if time allows.
