Did you know Ella Schroeder? Carries Mom (married my brother David). She used to make the pastries for the Burger Queen. She was there one early morning as usual, and the doorknob was rattling, like someone was trying to get in. These days, you pull a gun and shoot a Meth head. Those days you let the person in. ANYHOW, she opens the door and here is a blackbear standing there licking the maple off of the door. She must have taken something out to the trash (two day olds probably) and got some on her hand. I still laugh at that. and apparently the bear was so enamored with what was on the door knob or the smell coming out of the Bakery, dang if he just stood there. Man I loved growing up there. Ironically one of my cougar stories revolves around her house on the back side of the river. The gamies finally came and tranquilized them and moved them, after we watched them for a couple days hanging out on the ditch bank and her yard, they crossed the river and starting living in my moms barn. Nothing like going out to feed the ponies, look up and there is a cougar standing there stairing at you.
