Right on...that's a heck of a buck right there.  Can't expect much more than that with a late tag....anywhere.  Congrats to the boy....one proud Dad I'm sure.

Just want to say thanks to all you guys on the nice posts.  Scout's been grinning from ear to ear.  It's seems liitle different these days.  Seems like none (or very few) of the kids at his school are hunters.  I remember as a kid how excited I would be after a good day of duck and goose hunting and heading off to school and share the stories with my buddies and a few teachers.  Don't know if its a local trend here or if he's just starting out younger than most kids.  Either way, if you get the chance, take a youngster out hunting.  It is time well spent; kin or not.  We have a 4 day lowland hunt coming up this weekend, and I went out tonight and spotted a nice little spike on my property.   Hope to get my nephew out there and see if he can get his first deer!!!!

Hey Scout, this is one trophy hunter that is very envious of your buck.  I hunted hard for my hunt to find a buck like that and you got it done.  I already congratulated you, but I wanted you to know how special that deer was.   I've hunted the area you were in alot with a camera and just a pair of binos and you got a dandy.  You are on your way to a garage full of bone once you hit 30. :)
