I think I have a shooter!!
« on: January 06, 2014, 10:10:56 AM »
Saturday we went up the hill to bust some rocks. Started off with a buddies 30-06 to make sure it was dialed.

Then we set up on the 700 yard range.

I busted out the 243 WSSM, sent some 105 grain Hornady A-Max down range.

We had my Stepson (he is 7 years old) calling shots thru the spotting scope for  the 30-06 and 243 shots.

Then he asked...Can I try?

Heck yeah I told him.

So, I got him lined up behind the 243. I had some 55 grain Winchester factory varmit loads on hand...these are cookin...out of this rifle, they are at ~ 3990 FPS.

Well, loaded one in the pipe. Once he said he had good sight picture, I took the safety off, and told him he could pull the tigger. He nailed it!!

Then he wanted to do it again...so loaded another....same thing...nailed it...

He wanted to send a third...okey dokey...and again on the money.

We have a shooter in training!!!!

It is so cool when your kid can shoot better than 1.5 MOA at 700 yards!!!!! Not many people can do that...I am one proud Papa!!!

(I dont think he truly knows what he did..I told him it was 7 football fields...he kinda gave me this look  :dunno: and I was  :IBCOOL: )

That's awesome!

My wife ( girlfriend at the time) pulled that on me with the 25-06.   Shot a better 5 shot group than I probably ever did.  What the heck. :chuckle:   I think it feels better when your kid or a little one outshoots ya though.    :)
