Rear peep sight question.
« on: January 14, 2014, 04:33:27 PM »
I'm planning on putting a rear peep sight on my muzzy for next season. I figured I would just get the Williams rear peep that is on Cabelas that goes in the same place as the original rear sight. I found this however. http://www.eabco.com/Muzzleloader03.htm It places the rear peep farther back, closer to your eye. Anyone that knows more about peep sights than me (probably a lot of folks haha) have any insight for me. How big of a benefit is it to have the rear peep closer to your eye?

The farther the peep is from your eye the bigger hole it needs to see thru well.

The closer to your eye, the better. I'm not sure I'd even consider a peep mounted in the same location as a standard rear sight.

What are you putting it on? I have a couple sets of Williams I am considering selling. 1 is NIB. The other is on my Knight Bighorn.

I have a peep sight on my m/L . I took out the aperture and shoot it with the housing only, Gathers good light and works very well. My Nephew shot this bull with it. First time shooting a M/L
