Are they tight fitting like boxer briefs?

Not as tight as briefs and not as loose as boxers is the best I can explain it

I spent a fortune on UnderArmour last year is hopes they would be similar to the mesh Jockeys.  Great fit!  But I have never sweated so much in the lower region ever!  Probably killed every swimmer in the pond.  Good gracious they were hot!

Are you Exofficio users buying them from REI or getting them online?

Cabelas carries them.  That's where I have gotten all of mine.  Not the cheapest place I'm sure but convenient for me.  I have used compression shorts for years but these things leave compression shorts in the dark ages!   The fit and comfort is amazing!  I have always had chaffing issues but these amazing egg baskets have all but eliminated that issue for me.  Best new gear find in the last couple of years for sure.

6" or 9"?  9" was one of the things I really liked about the UA.  But I just couldn't wear them long enough to see how that worked in the long haul.

I'm upgrading a lot this year because I'm having my first kid next year. Picked up pretty much everything off of different forums for smokin deals. I plan to upgrade my sleep system next year for ultra light and compact backpacking.

Katadyn hiker pro
Adventure medical kit
Primus eta lite

EVO, what do you think of the Katadyn hiker pro filter?  was looking those over on Sunday.  they look nice.

Jozie,  Here is what I use for a pillow:

Great storage bag during the day, and at night in inverts to make a nice soft pillow.

for what that pillow sack weighs you could bring an actual exped or s2s pillow.
if a pillow isnt important, just put extra clothes in your sleeping bag drysack.

the hiker pro has been solid on the 3 trips its been on for us. about 40 pumps per L has been my assessment.

Except that the pillow sack has dual purpose (and has a nice soft fleecy inner liner)...  A dedicated pillow is just a pillow...  I use it as a stuff sack to keep my gear organized in my pack.

Good intel on the Hiker Pro.  I'll have to consider that as an alternative to my sweetwater.

If sediment is not an issue, I have had great luck with the MSR water tabs.  they work in 30 min and have a very minimal aftertaste.  One tab in it's paper container weighs 2.2 grains and treats a liter.

Probably the most substantial upgrades / Waite loss this year is.

Tent switching to a BA from my Alps to save 2lbs 3oz
Big Agnes Slater UL2+ 2lbs 9oz
Alps Mountaineering Zephyr 2 / 4lbs12oz

Pack switching to a Kuiu from my Eberlestock to save 4lbs
Kuiu Ultra 6000 3lbs 9oz
Eberlestock J34 Just One 7lbs 8oz

Don't have the Kuiu in hand yet but will by the middle of next month.

I'd love to replace my pack. Mine is wearing out.

I should sell my Northface SnowShoe sleeping bag. It is a left zipper and too long for me.  I'd rather have a standard length and right zipper'd bag.

I saw this solar powered lighted lid Nalgene bottle that I think I want.

I haven't used my new/used Marmot Limelite tent yet. I'm sure I'll be a whole lot more comfortable in that than the Eureka Solitaire tent I used last year.

I think I'm going to pick up a collapsible fly rod.
