Today's Sea Duck hunt with Seth30
« on: January 18, 2014, 09:53:45 PM »
Seth30 came out to the island yesterday for a duck hunt this morning.  We managed to get him into a bunch of firsts.  We should have limited but a few misses on some mergansers shorted me.  We got a pair of doubles on the Oldsquaw but had to follow up on a couple and mine went the opposite way from his so we lost a hen in the chop.   >:(

Not a bad day on the salt, with a goose to fill out the day.

Loki,

thanks again for a great time   It was great to get on some old sqauws and a bonus goose.  The drake will be sent to John Naab.  If I was wearing my duck commander shirt, I would have not missed my first goldeneye :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  Loki your a great host and a good hunter

Turn it in the picture next time so we can better appreciate such cool birds. Congrats

Unfortunately, both drakes were young birds so didn't have much in the line of long tail pins.   :(

In case there is anyone left on the site that hasn't hunted with seth30 (sounds like he has a long list of hunting buddies), then let me just say that he is a true gentleman as a house guest.  Seth even put up with coming with us at night across the water to our daughter's high school basketball game,  and he ate all his vegetables (even though he initially stated he didn't like broccoli).   :)

Weathergirl, that was the first time I have ever enjoyed brocolli, it is also the first time I have had it fresh.  Maybe the freezing process adds or takes away a flavor?  Thanks again for being a great host
