Looking for someone that has a Thunder Jet 185 Explorer
« on: January 26, 2014, 08:36:43 AM »
I think this has emerged as my favorite.  Can anyone offer me any advice or opinions of this particular boat?  How about Thunder Jet in general.

A close second is the Duckworth Pacific 18 footer.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thunderjet makes nice JET boats, for big rivers....  Loved mine for that purpose a Rio Classic - but the ride was awful on any chop, minor wind chop will require kidney belt needs tightening.. But it was a Jet...

Seems as if hull wasn't changed much from Jet hull to the offshore, but I haven't look at them that hard either.  Siglers Marine in Portland  has them - go test one on a sloppy day to see what you think...

Love it. It is a great boat built well.
