Drawing Date
« on: February 22, 2014, 03:29:05 PM »
Anyone know the general date they do the draw? Think it will be earlier this year since some of the units open April 1st now?

I was just wondering the same thing earlier today. I look at the last years regs and the application deadline was May 22. I figured it would all be about the same this year but who knows.

Are you referring to the regular special permits by May 22nd? Or did you mean Feb 22nd?

Seems like I remember them doing the drawing in third week of March when the seasons opened April 15th, but now that a few units open April 1st, I'm wondering if they'll do it a little earlier.

The deadline for application is Feb. 28.  They usually post the results for bear within a couple of weeks.

I agree. The deadline should be Jan 28 for spring be a draw. With results in feb. That would gove time to actually plan a hunt and procure vacation etc...

That's why I only apply for the same area I'll be turkey hunting anyway.  I already have the time off, it's just a matter of whether I'll be carrying just a shotgun or rifle and shotgun.

But if they shorten the application period a month they would loose out on money. Just saying thats probably what they are looking at, longer application period gives people a longer period of time to apply= more applications and more money :dunno:

I think the drawing is supposed to be today. No I mean tomorrow, March 1. Oh wait that's Saturday, Monday March 3. If not then next Monday March 10, that's my birthday and I will be selected as a BD present.  :chuckle:
