My MH Region 6 elk
« on: March 05, 2014, 07:23:54 AM »
I got drawn for a Master Hunter Region 6 Elk tag. They finally call and said I could hunt. I went out to the farm for two days and didn't really see any elk. The third day it played out for me. I spotted them in another field and working to the field I could hunt. so I bailed into the woods and set up to wait for them. 30 mins later she was down. Just thought I would share. Sorry I was by myself and this is the only picture I got.

Isn't she a beaut! Nice going. You'll be enjoying that meat for sure.

Congrats arrow on your harvest.
On a side note there is a reason they wanted you to take a cow that was packing. These are in damage areas.

I shot the first one into the field. Thanks Tbar, they want a twofer....lol, but there where already at least 6 elk taken in that area including mine. One of those cow was riddled with 22 bullets. Think the locals are doing there own hazing. Heard of a dead calf on one of the fields.

Thanks for the info.  I know of another MH region six hunt going on up here right now but didn't think it looked like the same field.  Congrats on the tasty elk!

Did they let you switch to modern for the damage tag? I'm assuming by your name you had an archery regular season tag?
