Stolen gun
« on: March 05, 2014, 06:20:06 PM »
I was visiting with a friend this past weekend and he told me a cool story of a stolen gun. So back in the early 80's my friends grandpa had a 30-06 stolen from his truck. Well early last week the Idaho state patrol got in contact with my friends grandma asking if her Husband was available, she replied No he passed away years ago. She was baffled at why they were asking for him and as the conversation went on they explained to her how they had recovered the stolen rifle from a pawn shop, and wanted to know if she'd like to have it returned. Of course she said yes. So after 30 plus years my friends grandpa's rifle was returned. Just thought it was cool and a great surprise for him and his grandma.

You'd be surprised at the number of people who have a gun in their collection for 30 years, and when they take them in to consign them for sale, the police report shows it to be a stolen gun!   :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I always call in the serial on a gun to see if it is reported stolen if bought privately.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I always call in before actually buying the gun from a private party. Usually while standing there with the seller. I call the sheriff office.
