A few pictures from a Moultrie L-50 (white flash)

I've had a couple trail cams at this spot for 2 months now, with various things tied to trees for bait, inlcuding an elk hide and head. Two weeks ago I added a skinned out porcupine carcass, thinking that would for sure draw in a coyote or even better a bobcat for some pictures. Nope, still nothing. Just checked it today and it's just been two possums there for the last two weeks. I thought I'd post up the one and only picture I did get of a coyote. This was a month ago and it seems to be camera shy. I'll also throw in a few of a coon that came by but didn't stick around for long.

If anyone is interested in a white flash camera for the color night pictures, I like this L-50. I only paid $40. The trigger is a little slow so it needs to be used with bait, or some other attractant to slow the animals down. But I really like getting the color, non-blurry pictures at night, which you don't get with an infrared flash.

A couple more from today's check. I got 562 pictures of nothing but these possums.

Bobcat,  just a suggestion, but I would move your camera back and up.  Maybe 20ft back and at least 5ft up.   Moultrie's great detection range will still work and it'll move the unit out of close proximity to their sniffers.

That's a good suggestion. I bet that would help a lot. I do have the cameras really close as I was wanting close up pictures. Mostly was wanting bobcat pictures, but usually get coyotes in more than bobcats. Also was thinking I had a chance for a cougar.

The L-50 is really sensitive, and here are a couple of pictures that prove that. It's set for a 2 shot burst, and in the first one you'll see a mouse. I'll post the second picture as well. The second picture the mouse is gone but it helps so you can see the mouse in the first picture. (hint: it's in the middle on the right side)

I think I will try moving the cameras back next time I'm out there, and see if I have any better luck.

Actually, I lied. I did get pictures of something other than the possums this time. Three pictures of a hawk...

That's pretty cool seeing other critters besides the other animals that are normally posted ones.

Yes, it is a coyote nose. And that's why I posted it, that's the only picture of a coyote I got at this spot in the 2 months that I've had cameras there, and bait. I knew coyotes were around, as I've seen sign almost every time I go in there. Like I said, the coyotes are apparently camera shy.
