The difference between our founding fathers and the individuals of today is that the founding fathers would meet and assemble.

The founding fathers had to meet and assemble--they didn't have Facebook and Twitter, and the internet.  :chuckle:

They wouldn't have been able to do anything if they had those feeds!  The assembly of individuals is what could mass an army, a militia.  Not a bunch of guys in recliners spread out thinly across the state.  Besides the internet is monitored by big brother and if you say the wrong thing, you have someone kicking in your door.

Ever hear of Oath keepers?

The problem with Oath Keepers is that they started with a good single issue concept and started throwing in all kinds of big-tent ideas and then it looked a little too extreme.

The local guy I talked to seemed to be pretty sensible. I am sure there are some in the organization that are extreme.

What other organization is trying to be prepared? What should we do if they start raiding homes in CT? It's a rhetorical question. I don't really know what to do, but I am looking around and trying to be prepared.

I know exactly what I'm going to do if I get a knock on my door by Mr. Gun Grabber.  (We really need a shovel smiley con).

Oath Keepers would have done well with their first article of faith, so to speak. "We will NOT obey orders to disobey the American people." That was good enough. Then they get into other loopy stuff:

" 7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext." What the heck do you call jail? A cop who wants to be a part of Oath Keepers can't take someone to jail now.

"2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people"
Yeah? Cops conduct searches without warrants all the time, and the SCOTUS has ruled them Constitutional. There are exigent circumstances such as Hot Pursuit or Readily Mobile Conveyance exceptions that plainly allow for searches without a warrant. The 4th Amendment doesn't prohibit searches without a warrant--instead that people be free from unreasonable searches and seizures. This is what courts rule on: constitutional reasonableness. The 4th then goes on to describe how warrants shall be issued.

Just some concerns I saw. :twocents:

Conn. Cop: I Will Kick Down Doors To Confiscate Guns

March 12, 2014 by Mikael Thalen in Amendment II, Columns, Connecticut, Defense, Property with Comments (0)

UPDATE: Since the release of this article, Branford Police have confirmed that Officer Peterson has been placed on paid leave while an internal investigation is carried out.

A Connecticut man revealed shocking comments made by a Branford police officer this week who has openly defended door-to-door gun confiscation.

After the tragic Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, Conn. lawmakers mandated that all “assault rifles” and “high capacity” magazines be banned, requiring all in circulation to be registered with the state. Fearing the obvious move towards confiscation, the vast majority of gun owners have refused to submit, with estimates finding less than 13 percent of rifles being registered.

Navy veteran and firefighter John Cinque, who made national news after telling state lawmakers he would not comply with gun registration, briefly commented on the officer’s statements in a discussion with gubernatorial candidate Joe Visconti last Friday.
“I’ve had contact with a police officer in my home town, I live in Branford, and his words straight out were, ‘I cannot wait to get the order to kick your door in,’” Cinque said.

In an exclusive interview with Storyleak, Cinque further detailed the disturbing comments made by Branford Police Officer Joseph Peterson, one of the state’s most highly decorated officers.

By suspending him, they probably saved his life...
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
