16th bighorn death out of 31 reported in Catalinas

TUCSON - Game and Fish has reported a mountain lion has killed another relocated bighorn sheep.

This is the 16th death so far of the 31 sheep who were moved from a mountain area near Yuma to the Catalinas.

The dead ewe was found Sunday, according to the Game and Fish website.

Game and Fish continue to track the remaining sheep population, an effort designed to bring the species back to the Santa Catalinas.

Is this the operation Bean Counter mentioned?

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Yep. This has made the "cover page" of Fox News now. It's good predator management is getting some press!

Now to get down there with my camera before there's nothing left but piles of lion poop.

This really shows the impact that top predators can have on our game populations.

Fish and Game agencies need to get on board with properly managing predators like they did 20-30 years ago.  :twocents:
