Livingston - Drain plug(s)?

I picked up a 1984 14' Livingston last week. One thing I've noticed is that it does not have any drain plugs. I assume it had one (or two actually) in the past and that they got filled.

So...Did it have a drain plug? If yes, one or two? Any tips on finding the right place to put new one(s)?
I'm guessing the "seat" area in the back has a channel/tube/pipe running through it for draining, so I would need to line it up pretty well to hit the right spot. I'm also assuming a plug would go on each side.

Yes, they had one for each side. Look at the aft most inboard side of the hull. There should be a well there where the drains should be. Here is a pic of the drain on most livingstons.  Rounded part goes on the outside. Only issue is, if you step on the plug, you break the ears off of it.

I'm guessing those are the drains that I've circled here (clearly, not my boat pictured here)? I don't see anything on the other side in this picture...am I missing something?

they have plugs that you stuff in from the inside and turn the screw with a flathead screw driver to make the rubber swell out, that way it isnt a plug that is outside the boat, all plugs should be installed from the inside out

I will try and take a pic of mine when I get home tonight. Mine looks nothing like the picture above. I think my boats a late 70s or early 80s.

Here's a pic of what it looks like as it hits the back seating area. It's possible there's a hollow opening behind the seat, under the platform, but I'm inclined to think there is not (would be a pretty narrow seat).

It does look like there's a hole/tunnel heading under the seat. I assume to drain out the stern, however, a prior (not most recent) owner filled those drain holes, so I would need to re-drill.

Is there two drain holes on the back side of the transom, exiting the back of the boat?  I have a 12' that does not have the rear seat configuration but does have two holes where the plugs go on the transom.  I have drain holes under the seats like the one in your pictures.

LOL...I feel like I should be insulted that you don't think I would notice two drains in the transom of my boat. 

There are not holes, but there are clear indications of a patch job.

Definitely not trying to insult your intelligence....   but a guy never knows .  My bet is the previous owners patched the holes....doesn't make sense but hey, not much these days makes sense.

On my livingston i believe late 70's it has plugs like your first diagram above, with nylon screw in plugs. I believe like yours someone previous of course patched up the ones on the transom.

So now that we've established it had plugs, but they were filled...next steps?

Clearly, I would like drain plugs.

One question I cannot answer is whether the plug receiver remains or if it was pulled. While I also cannot confirm whether the added platform is covering a hollow area (unfortunately, it looks like it's been riveted, or something, to the boat, so not easy to remove), it does look like the connections go all the way to the stern, indicating there's something there to which to attach.

It's possible I MIGHT be able to get a long enough drill bit and extension to try to drill it from the inside, going through the tube in the rear seat...although the hole there may not be large enough for the hole that needs to be drilled. However, I assume if drilling from the rear, I need to worry about living it up correctly.

Try a magnet or metal detector and see if the metal from the plug receiver is just filled and covered with fiberglass.  I believe the plug receivers are metal.....??  This would be my first step.  If the metal is still there then find it and clear the plug.  This should solve the problem. 

After that....I have nothing.

I have an older 10 footer. I'm guessing they are glassed over on your boat. The original drains are a screwed on plastic plate right on the bottom where your feet go with a plastic screw in plug. Mine were broken when I bought the boat and I replaced them and immediately broke them again. I believe a lot of these were glassed over for that reason. Considering doing it to my boat too for this reason. It's small enough that I really don't need drain plugs.
