That's a broad question.  When where what season?  If they just did away with east and west they would increase quality permits for all the east side hunts by a ton.  Yes some eastsiders would come west but then again some westsiders would go east.  I wouldn't care if they got rid of certain rifle seasons to increase archery permits.
Well that's awfully thoughtful of you. Giving up other people's hunts to help you.... They don't need as many quality permits on the west side as they do on the eastside because the general seasons are already open to branch antlered bulls. Unlike the eastside.

sent from my typewriter

I wasn't serious about doing away with certain rifle seasons.  Just a stupid answer to a stupid question.  Apparently a rhetorical question.  Bobcat I completely agree with you on your last comment.

I don't understand how making everything go special permit is going to help the state manage elk better on the west side ? Look how well they managed the toutle or the Margaret...both hunts are a joke compared to what they used to be

The state land up in toutle you wanna hang a Right at the toutle she'll station into south toutle road then hang another right on the 4100 then go oh about 3-4 miles an hang a left on the 4200 an it'll take you up to the vast majority of the state land... But I wouldn't consider a quality tag. I wouldn't waste more than a handful of points in it anyway.. Just my opinion.

How will this increase the number of quality permits in any way?

They should give out quality tags that are later in September during the actual rut.

it would greatly expand my choices as a westside archery hunter.  By like 20 different permits.

I'm still not following you.  By eliminating the need to choose east or west, it will not add any more permits.  It would only allow a person to have more options.  It will not change the number of permits that are given out.

I'm not talking about adding more hunts.  Just giving westsiders archers more options.  If westsiders archers could put in out eastit would increase the options by a lot of special permits.  If you still don't understand then I can't help you.  I you understand but don't agree and prefer the seasons the way they are then I respect your opinion but also respecfully dissagree.

It would give more otions but it make any good hunt a lot  harder to draw... Even worse than now ...

this would really suck for eastside hunters.  90% of the westside hunters would put in for eastside tags.

If you want more options to draw a tag for a big bull, hunt the eastside, chase spikes and put in your time learning the area while building points and applying for the big bull tags. If you'd rather hunt branch bulls every year hunt the west side... I honestly don't mind the current system, it makes sense to me. Washington has such a high hunter to game ratio there are things we have to do to limit the pressure in game rich(er) areas.

You guys can put in for nooksack too.  I just looked and archery hunters with that tag had a 54 day split season.  Even I could get it done in 54 days.
