no luck for me yet
« on: November 30, 2008, 10:33:41 AM »
hey guys I have been going out as much as possible on the west side and I have not called in a coyote yet. I wear camo I stay still.I go between a cheep e call and a few distress mouth calls that i think I need more practice with. I called in a few crows and a few hunters. Do you guys think that the animals are still a little spooked from all the hunters in the woods lately from the seasons? I'm thinking that when the woods calm down a bit more I will have better luck I hope. How has everyone else done on the west side so far?

Im having the same problem down here as well.  Im pretty confident that Im doing it right.  Just not getting the right dogs to hear.   :dunno:  Im just going to wait a couple weeks and try it again.  It gets kind of discouraging but Im not ready to give up on it yet.  What really sucks is before I decided to start hunting them I saw them everywhere.  :bash:

Yeah not a lot of people now but there was all season.  Im going to to try again in a week or two after things calm back down.  If you want maybe we could put our amateur skills together and see what we come up with.  I dont have a rifle yet so I can bring the shotgun.  But I should warn you, all I have called in is 1 unknown, ravens, flickers, and hawks.  :bash:

Heavy foot traffic will make coyotes non-responsive faster than anything else I can think of.  Give it a chance to cool down or find an area that is not open to big game hunters, but a landowner may give you permission to chase yotes.
Dreams are forever on the mind, realization in the hands.
