That last one looks like he's got bad things in mind for you Bone.  Looks like he just got back from the gym... :chuckle:

Great Pics, as always..

East of the Pacific Crest trail.  SOuth of the Canadian border, north of I-84 and anywhere in-between.

I do need to expand in the Blues.  I don't get that direction much.  maybe a spring bear tag, or a elk photoshoot this fall.

Lots of bear, plenty of elk, but I've about gven up down here on a mule deer that is more than 2 1/2 years old.  Maybe on some private land...

You have some killer whitetails "starting" to surface.  Got a nice strain of blonde wolves too but I understand tags for them are hard to come by.  I've got some old muley pics from the Wallowas.

If you come this way next September and want some good elk pics, PM me.  I have a stepbrother from Switzerland that came up to our elk camp for two days this year.  We got him 40 yards from a 300+ bull that was mad as hell.  Said it was one of the coolest experiences of his life.  My 9 year old was bugling into a canyon and had 4 bulls come together right below him.  Quite a scene.  They all disappeared into the timber below us within a minute of each other.  Lots of comotion, then the two smaller ones (raghorns) came barreling out.  The two 6-bys went at it for a while.  We couldn't see them from our perch, so I don't know if they locked up or if they were just hitting trees.  When one finally came out he had so much grass hanging off his antlers I don't know how he could see.  Lots of good bulls up here, we just can't shoot 'em..

Well, I just finished a nice thick photograph smothered in mushrooms and wine sauce...  I am not sure I completely agree..

...still, they're fun to watch, and my boy gets to go home from elk camp every year with new stories.

THat's true.  2 years ago, when he was 8, my son pulled a 5X5 in to about 15 yards.  He stood there broadside for a full minute (of course I had an arrow nocked, just in case a cow stepped out behind him), and then trotted off.  After he left, I got the third degree:
"why haven't you been drawn yet dad?"
"How long before you get drawn?"
"How do you fill out the application?"
"Are you sure you have been doing it right?"
"Maybe you should talk to someone who has been drawn and make sure you are doing it right..."

...Is it bad to be fed up with WDFW before you are even old enough to take Hunter's Ed?
