Thanks Moose.  I've still got a batch of pics to put on this thread.  A guy needs more time.  Teacherman I do whatever it takes to get where I've got to go.  Thats from show leather to long miles on the rig.  Today it was crosscountry skis.  Alot of times its snowshoes or snowmobile or both, but this snow sucks for that.

Bone, In your opinion what is the overall shape of the herd/deer that you are seeing since the extreme cold temps set in? Are they looking ok? Just wondering.

Methow herd, Yakima herd and I suspect the Entiat herd are in great shape.  Animals are robust and range is good, and conditions are mild.  Problem is we have wet or warm weather coming in.  Once it ices or crusts or worse yet, rain then cold, the animals will start to suffer.  I haven't been up to the Colville or around spokane but suspect their deep snows aren't helping them much.

We saw loads of them today and they all looked very healthy and active. The snow was dry and powdery and easily moved to access food.

yep agreed seeing lots of deer around here in the regular spots. . . one spot didnt seem to hold nothing usually its got only one buck in there with a couple doe small area so maybe if the buck got killed the doe split for better breeding grounds early. .. same snow conditions 14 16 inches to 24 inches and light and powdry

It rained all morning North of Spokane. We went from around 35" of snow to about 20" today. The problem is my almost 3 year old daughter can run across the top of what is left it packed down so hard from the rain. Then just after dark it dropped below freezing tonight. Doesn't look good. Predator heaven.  :bash:

I was sneaking up on him and I spotted this guy coming.  If you remember right, he was the one that I watched run a coyote up onto the rock
