First year hunting

Probably not posting in the rignt spot but this will be my first year hunting. Hearing people tell there stories and all this fun and exciting trips just got me wanting to live that hunting experience. Im all legal now just have a few more things to get but i should be good to go by hunting season. Its obvious i dont know much but im Doing alot of studying and gathering as much info as i can. For deer im thinking of going to the scotch creek area been looking at alot of maps from there just need to take a little trip there and check it out. For elk im thinking rimrock area even though ist crowded but oh well like i said im a first timer. If anyone has any pointers tips something ill appreciate it very much. Ill be sure to keep in touch here so you guys can see how im doing. Haha probaly not to great but heck ill give it my best.

You need to start scouting now....get out and learn the area you plan to hunt...spend every day you can in there.....get some good rain gear and a good pair of binos

Wednesday im planning on driving to and doing some scouting in scotch creek area. And ill head up to rimrock on my days off work since its not far ftom where i live. Still have to get a bit more gear but boy am i having fun already.

Welcome to the addiction ....it only gets worse from here wait until you get your first legal animal in your sights..you probably have never had an adrenaline rush like you will get when you squeeze that trigger...there's nothing like it in the world...one piece of advice..take the first legal buck/bull you see...get your first one down..are you doing this on your own or do u have a mentor helping you?

I bet it will be a rush... Im on my own. People i know and work with give me a tip or two but thats about it. A little help here and there will do me good im a fast learner. Ill be heading in the woods on my own. But i love it out there

If you plan on going by urself get a GPS..it will save you from getting lost....you can get turned around real easy

Jolten im going modern rifle hunting. Im 23 6'2" 215 and in good physical shape. I love fishing and gone through some tough terrain just for a fish so for game i diffinetly will also. Not going to be a road hunter. I want to get off my butt and go far away from the roads i believe thstss were they should be. Im also a meat cutter thats my job been doing it for 5 years now. So i wont have a problem cutting up an animal.

Get a good pair of boots, use Google Earth for pre-scouting, get out there and have fun!

You can get into pockets of deer where you're thinking. Good thing your in good shape you're h going to have to travel a bit.
