I have been fortunate enough to draw 2 late buck tags, Entiat 06 and Ritzville 03, and a doe tag in between the two,Soap lake area, got 10 points now for elk, never have pulled a tag , waiting on a Toutle archery tag. The wife has drawn 3 late buck tags,Entiat 06, Ritzville 03, and East Okanogan 97, all of which were great hunts, also has drawn 2 cow permits in eastern WA, no success though.

How was the Ritzville hunt?
I also forgot I got a buckrun tag in 05, 3 pt or less hunt though. Saw lots of deer and shot a small one.

Ridgerunner, that Ritzville hunt was good, but not great, you would think that with a limited entry hunt that a lot of those land owners would give out permission because they and their families are not hunting but that is not the case! We took numerous scouting trips looking for permission and finally scraped up a couple of places to hunt. All four of us took deer off the same ranch near Washtucna. I took a 4x4 whitetail with a 19 inch spread, my wife took a 5x5 muley with a 19 inch spread, my buddy Jeremy took a 5x6 with a 18 inch spread. Lots of deer but not the size you would expect hunying in the rut.

Finman, thanks for getting back to me, that's the type of info I was looking for. Some big ones out there in that country but I was worried about access issues.

I have drawn 3 the late buck permits in recent years. I drew the Alta in 2000 right after that horendous winter kill. I saw about a half a dozen young 4 points but nothing big enough to shoot. Then I drew the Quilomene in 2003 abut didn't find a mature buck there either so I struck out again. Then the Pogue in 2005. I ended up with a 20" 4-point but not exactly the buck that I was looking for. The Utah draw is 2 weeks away so I hope to be deer hunting there this fall.

Buckblaster, not that it matters but I believe you drew Quilomene in 2000, the same year I drew Umtanum. Wasn't Alta '96 or '97?

Bobcat, you're probably right, the years all run together after you get so old.

I got drawn for the Yakima Firing Range in Nov. 2005 and got this buck. The fog settled in the first seven days of the hunt and and threw me for a loop. It cleared off the last two days and I was able to see them before they saw me. This buck was very skinny and didn't have fat at all and I worried about the eatablity of the meat, but as usual the taste was fine.
I came away with a great hunt and I hope to hunt on the range again. I like the way they control the people who come on the range.

So far the only tag I've ever drawn is the Chiwawa in 04'. After 8-9 solid days in the hill, ended up with this guy. Last day, last couple hours of the hunt. As you can see.....pretty foggy!
That's me obviously just screwing around......hope no one thinks it's offensive.
