I think the magic number is 4 points. I drew Blue Creek Archery in 2012 with only 4 points. I see a lot of hunter with 4 points getting drawn. So, I should draw Dayton archery in 2 years. :chuckle:

Might as well look at the actual data rather than a small skewed sample on Hunt WA.

http://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/permits/results/points/2013.php

It's 2013, but over that large a sample size, the 2014 results will be similar.

What are the odds of 1 member of my group pulling a tag that averages 230 applicants.  Two of us have 13 points.  One has 9, the other 6.

That would depend on how many permits are available.

Can someone explain the two columns to me? I don't get the the two columns of applicants with different numbers and such....

Pay attention to the labels, there are "applications" and "applicants."

An applicant is each individual person who applies. More than one applicant can be listed on each individual application.

Say there are two applications for a permit and each one was a group application with two people in one group and three in the other.

In the first column it would show 2 for the number of applications and in the third column would be 5 for the number of people included in those two applications.

Once you understand this, I think the rest will be self explanatory.
