BT Pics from Last Year
« on: June 21, 2014, 07:13:27 AM »
A few pics of some of the bucks on the camera last year. First time trying a ground blind, this year I will do more prep work and get it off of the trail - the deer movement came to a halt when I put it up. Spent most of November and December in the blind and nothing came by. Will hunt the Modern Season this year as they appear to be rutting hard in mid October. Enjoy!

Cool!  What draws the deer near your cam?  Is it placed on a transition zone or are you using trace minerals?   I have a harder time getting pics on my cams after August.

Put your blind up now and they'll be use to it by September... :twocents:

Agree on the early set up, also I suggest brushing them in. I've been using ground blinds for both deer and elk and have had good success but I set it up early and take the time to brush it in real well. A little hand saw and some para cord…… good to go!!

Thanks for the tip - I will definitely try to set it up and "brush" it in this July so that they can adjust to it. All of them are legal in Modern and I would take any one of them - but it would be nice to get the bigger guy.

Wanttohuntmore: I haven't used any bait (yet), I just placed it up at the convergence of two fairly used trails. My dad and I put it up at and came back to check it and we were pleasantly surprised.
