http://muzzle-loaders.com/rifles/cva/accura/pr3123sn.php      Take a look at this beauty, I really like the quickness of pulling your breech plug without tools, like the model on the page before this one.  But also like the thumb hole stock, which I can't seem to find for my T/C XR.  I would buy this gun if I didn't love my Xr so much.             So tell me guys why I shouldn't sell my t/c xr and buy this gun????  Any muzzy pro's out there that can change my mind???

Yes 1 in 28 is what I would want. Thanks, I couldn't find that on the CVA website.

Maybe buy the CVA, try it out, then decide which one to sell.

Just picked this gun up.  Thanks for the info guys!     So I got a pack of three speed loaders for 5 dollars as well.  Is Muzzelloader.com relatively cheap for bullets and accessories?  Or is there a better web site to get ammo and powder from?  BTW they charged me $20 for shipping.  :bash: :bash:  Should have got the optima for free shipping over 308.  But whatever I still saved a few bucks with the wolf.  so whats a list of items I need to make this thing go bang?  I want high quality accessories.  Not over priced but I want to practice with the same loads I hunt with.  Thanks for the help.

get you a drill bit to clean out the flash channel of your breech plug every 3 to 6 shots.       here is something you might want to consider    http://www.plugcleaner.com/images/EEZY-BREECH-UsersGuide.pdf     I have one and get a lot of use out of it.  It allows you to clean to small orfice in your breech plug also.

If you use a drill bit put some electrical tape around the shank so you can grip it, the carbon can be stubborn sometimes.  I think an 1/8" drill bit will work

You will also need a good bullet starter.  here is one I use, it is also for hollow point or polymer tip bullets.      http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=95

You also need some 2 or 2 1/2 " patches to clean and lube your barrel,  also I would get a couple of nylon brushes.

Also you will need something to soak your breech plug in, If you can't find anything else this will do it.       http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=150    myself I use Slip 2000 choke tube cleaner    http://www.slip2000.com/

you will also need a breech plug brush set, to scrub fire channel and barrel breech plug threads.    http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=139
you put some solvent on a patch and put it on the brush and turn it in your gun like you are threading in your breech plug, do it until a patch comes out clean, Then use a dry patch and do the same thing.   then put a patch on your brush and some lubricant and thread that in your barrel threads to lubricate them.  After your breech plug is clean and dry lightly lube it.  Put white teflon tape around your breech plug threads, when you are finished with your barrel thread the Breech plug in your barrel.  The reason I say use white teflon tape is if you have to push a load out of your barrel because it didn't fire, or you want to unload it without firing it, the powder won't get in the grease, causing a messy cleanup.

You will also need a lube, I use slip 2000 gun lub, It is for modern guns and Blackpowder guns, nothing like it, but you might like something else.     http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=139

You will also need a solvent, here is the slip 2000 products and cleaners.       http://www.slip2000.com/

There are a lot of muzzleloader cleaners out there, I am telling you about slip 2000 because I believe in it strongly, and feel it does a really good job on my gun.

One other thing I would buy would be a good range rod, and when you can afford it I would get a spinjag, google it and they have a lot of information and reviews.  They have them for loading only with real tight tolerances, and they have them that you can clean and load with    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=spinjag&clk_rvr_id=658919285701&adpos=1o1&MT_ID=70&crlp=33299351286_2416792&device=c&geo_id=10232&keyword=spinjag&crdt=0

you will also need a powder measure    http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=90

Besides your Bullets, Powder and Primer this stuff should get you shooting, You can do your own searching for Blackpowder accessories, cleaners, lubes, etc.  you might be able to find them cheaper.

Good Luck, post back and let us know how that wolf shoots.

seeing how it uses musket caps, you can plan on getting a lot of cleaning patches and a set of the angled cleaning brushes that birchwood casey sells.

This is a ton of info thanks!  Do you have a link for the RWS Musket caps that they suggest using?  I don't have the gun yet so I cant see how the musket cap will fit?

When your rifle shows up and you watch the DVD it gets a lot easier to figure out. In the meantime you can go to CVA's website and watch all the user manual videos plus they're linked to youtube and you can watch them there.
I purchased a nipple pick and that keeps my breach plug clean enough while on the range.
When I got home I soaked my breach plug in citrus cleaner/water for an hour and it looked like new.

I have to correct one thing for the Northwest Wolf, Seeing how it uses Musket caps you might not need a drill bit to clean out the flash channel I am not familiar with that set up, maybe someone else will chime in, A nipple pick as mentioned above would be a good idea.  Here is an example of one type,     http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=109    The Breech plug soaker solution would probably still be a good idea.

here is a CVA Warranty Registration page for you  http://www.cva.com/Muzzleloading-Resources.php?area=Lifetime-Warranty#t

Also if no one chimes in on the breech plug I would contact CVA and ask them what the procedure is while you are shooting the gun, if there is anything you should do to prevent hang fires, etc.
here is a link to ask CVA a question using e-mail.       http://www.cva.com/contact.php

here are some links to look at for RWS Musket caps, I think you are going to have a hard time finding them     https://www.google.com/search?q=RWS+Musket+caps&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS565US565&oq=RWS+Musket+caps&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=RWS+Musket+caps&start=0

I think that the Northwest Wolf will use #11 Mag caps also     https://www.google.com/search?q=RWS+Musket+caps&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS565US565&oq=RWS+Musket+caps&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=Mag+%2311+caps&start=0

Here are some links for regular #11 caps     https://www.google.com/search?q=RWS+Musket+caps&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS565US565&oq=RWS+Musket+caps&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=%2311+percussion+caps&start=0

There are a few companies that have the regular #11 Caps, not as hot as the mag #11 caps.  one thing to remember is if you have to order #11 Caps or musket caps online you will also have to pay a 27.50 or more hazmat fee, so order a lot if you have to.  In the links above there are forums that discuss the difference between musket caps and #11 Caps, it might be some good reading for you.  I myself don't know anything about musket caps but have used quite a lot of regular #11 percussion caps, never had any problem with them.  I used them in a T/C renegade 54 Caliber.  If I can think of anything else that will help you I'll post it, hope you enjoy your rifle.
