Does anyone know what the twist is on the CVA?
Yes 1 in 28 is what I would want. Thanks, I couldn't find that on the CVA website.
Get the CVA Northwest Edition, everything you want, very accurate, lifetime warranty. http://www.muzzle-loaders.com/rifles/cva/wolf/pr2113s.php
get you a drill bit to clean out the flash channel of your breech plug every 3 to 6 shots. here is something you might want to consider http://www.plugcleaner.com/images/EEZY-BREECH-UsersGuide.pdf I have one and get a lot of use out of it. It allows you to clean to small orfice in your breech plug also.If you use a drill bit put some electrical tape around the shank so you can grip it, the carbon can be stubborn sometimes. I think an 1/8" drill bit will workYou will also need a good bullet starter. here is one I use, it is also for hollow point or polymer tip bullets. http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=95You also need some 2 or 2 1/2 " patches to clean and lube your barrel, also I would get a couple of nylon brushes. Also you will need something to soak your breech plug in, If you can't find anything else this will do it. http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=150 myself I use Slip 2000 choke tube cleaner http://www.slip2000.com/you will also need a breech plug brush set, to scrub fire channel and barrel breech plug threads. http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=139you put some solvent on a patch and put it on the brush and turn it in your gun like you are threading in your breech plug, do it until a patch comes out clean, Then use a dry patch and do the same thing. then put a patch on your brush and some lubricant and thread that in your barrel threads to lubricate them. After your breech plug is clean and dry lightly lube it. Put white teflon tape around your breech plug threads, when you are finished with your barrel thread the Breech plug in your barrel. The reason I say use white teflon tape is if you have to push a load out of your barrel because it didn't fire, or you want to unload it without firing it, the powder won't get in the grease, causing a messy cleanup. You will also need a lube, I use slip 2000 gun lub, It is for modern guns and Blackpowder guns, nothing like it, but you might like something else. http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=139You will also need a solvent, here is the slip 2000 products and cleaners. http://www.slip2000.com/There are a lot of muzzleloader cleaners out there, I am telling you about slip 2000 because I believe in it strongly, and feel it does a really good job on my gun.One other thing I would buy would be a good range rod, and when you can afford it I would get a spinjag, google it and they have a lot of information and reviews. They have them for loading only with real tight tolerances, and they have them that you can clean and load with http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=spinjag&clk_rvr_id=658919285701&adpos=1o1&MT_ID=70&crlp=33299351286_2416792&device=c&geo_id=10232&keyword=spinjag&crdt=0you will also need a powder measure http://www.cva.com/CVA-Store-View.php?id=90Besides your Bullets, Powder and Primer this stuff should get you shooting, You can do your own searching for Blackpowder accessories, cleaners, lubes, etc. you might be able to find them cheaper. Good Luck, post back and let us know how that wold shoots.
