Pine creek Buck
« on: June 26, 2014, 07:05:30 PM »
Hey Guys I drew Pine creek unit buck, was wondering if anyone else on here has hunted this unit before. I no squat about this unit and was surprised I even drew the tag and am now getting kinda stoked to get over there and check it  out I have a couple of good buddies that have hunted it and they both got bucks. I did order a topo map and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail I will then sit down with some friends and do some studying. As much as I would like to get over there and scout this year isn't going to allow it till hunting season any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated thanks again

Look at it on Google Earth until you're cross-eyed! Mark off interesting places on your topo such as choke points, water, saddles, areas of cover and the openings and just keep refreshing and studying. Take a few pics of it on Google and mark them also after you print them out. Laminate them or keep them in plastic. Envision your hunt as you'd like to see it play out. It works for me and even if it doesn't go exactly as I had thought it might I am familiar enough with the area to go to plan B,C, or D.

The best thing is to hit those "friends up"
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

Pine Creek - Oregon
A hunt based only on trophies taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be, time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, the animals, and fish that live there”.- Fred bear
