im curious to how you came up with your stats?  if your bow retails for $650 and you paid $279 for it.. you saved $371 off of retail.. if mine even at $900 was retail and I paid $489 I saved $411 of retail...... btu since mine was custom and we will go with 1150 retail.. I paid $489 thats $661 off retail..........

You can look at it like that, or you can look at percent savings (which seems logical). So, if a bow retails for $650 and I paid $274 for it, you take 274/650 and you get 42.15%, so I saved 57.85% off of retail. Your bow at $900, you take 489/900 and you get 54.33%, so you only saved 45.67%, hence I had a bigger percentage savings.

Let me make an extreme example....I'm buying something that normally costs $10 and you are buying something that costs $100k. If I pay $1 for mine, I saved 90%, but only $9. If you pay $90k, sure you saved $10k, but you only saved 10%. I would say I got a better deal.

I am as well, thats only between brent and I.. and I see your point, and the extreme example certainly was, if your going by percentage im my head the reason yours came out on top was because your bow retails for roughly $300 cheaper then mine? and the diff in discount overall was not that much.... agreed?

They have what they call their Big Shot Program, which is what I was on. It really is nothing special. You work at a sporting goods store, you fill out a piece of paper, sign an agreement, check the boxes of what bow and accessories you want, give them your credit card number, and they send you the goods.

Nope, sure can't. If I would have been looking at bows and had to pay full price, I probably would have been looking at Hoyt and Mathews, but leading towards Mathews.  :) But, my Truth 2 shoots pretty damn good, so I am happy with it.

You guys are killing me. I think you all got screwed  :chuckle: I paid $120 for my Bear Element on Ebay and it came with a new hardcase . It was sold by a Lynnwood pawn shop of all places and shoots 306 fps at 70 lbs. and was in New condition.  I put on a Cobra fiber optic sight, A matching quiver, Easton St Epic arrows and have about $260 total in the bow. It shoots as good and smooth as any Hoyt, Matthews, etc. The only thing more inflated than the overpriced bows are the over inflated egos that seem to represent most of the comments here. My $260 bow will kill a animal as dead as any $1200 bow any day of the week. I used to laugh at the dorks that were shooting bows in the early 90's that were 25-40 lb target bows shooting carbon arrows with stabilizers that were 2 to 3 feet long. I was shooting a 85 lb Ben Pearson spoiler shooting 2213 xx75 arrows, I was shooting as good or better than they were. No offense guys I LOVE my Bear Bow and I know Most people love their Bear Bows as well. all you have to do it google them for the results. The only thing that sucks on the Bear is the finish it tends to chip if you are rough with it but does not affect the performance of the bow. It has a machined riser just like the rest, and compression molded limbs, The cams are every bit as nice as the higher priced bows (and probably made by the same suppliers)  So if you want to pay $1200 for a Mathhews or Hoyt go ahead, I'll take my $260 Bear and kill as many animals as the guy who spent $1200, and I'll have $1000 bucks to buy even more hunting stuff.

Its all in what you like.

interesting stance, its all in opinion im sure, and your right, you can kill with your cheap bow as well as I can with my 1300 hoyt.. however where it really matters is what seperates the 300 dollar bow from the 1300 vantage elite or my pro elite, serious comp is where it really shows how accurate, smooth and forgiving a bow can be, when your trying to hit a target the size of a dime all day long you need every advantage you can, and you can not in any way say your bow could shoot as consistent and as accurate as my pro elite or vantage elite.... not going to happen..... but on a target the size of a deer or elk, all day long it will get the job done, no doubt in my mind
