Report from Randle 503
« on: December 03, 2008, 06:15:54 PM »
Got into Randle at 9:30 pm set camp, got ready for the coming week of late Elk.  Heard about a cow took on Tuesday, on Huff. Mnt., and another cow along the Cispus just under Huff., rumor has it the guy that shot it was on the WRONG SIDE OF THE RIVER WHEN HE SHOT, hope that isnt true.  We hiked the ridges and drains off that section and came up empty handed.  We also hunted the Cispus river hard for 2 days without seeing anything. We did see a pelt at Mossyrock one of the roads right off 12, just west of Glenoma.

Anyway. Did anyone close the deal in Randle or Mossy?

A pat on the back is just shy of a kick in the ass..

Is that illegal? I wouldn't think so but I could be wrong. I was wondering about that the other day when we were driving along the South Fork Toutle. If we had seen an elk on the other side of the river it would be in the Coweeman unit, which is open for muzzleloader season. But we would have been shooting from the Toutle GMU into the Coweeman GMU. Personally I would take a shot like that if given the opportunity. I don't see anything wrong with it. The game warden might, but I sure don't.  :chuckle:

I'm positive the Game Warden would take you in for it.  If you had shot a trophy bull the fines would be out of control and you would lose your licence.
