Sitka goes on sale, usually 20% off in Jan/Feb. That's when I get my stuff. Being using Sitka since 2011. Finally have early season clothing put together. Also bought stuff from people of FB for a great price. It was slightly used and in great condition.

They have Sitka on there, but you're right...not everyone qualifies.

Been wearing Ascent pants for the past few years and love them for archery season. Super comfortable and even the mornings that your wet because of dew or light rain they are still comfortable and dry quickly. Best early season pants I have found and I have Mtn pants and some of the other Sitka pants I wear during the cold weather.

Most of the hunting that I do is west side, mid October and later. Although I do have a mid September wilderness hunt and a mid October Wyoming hunt this year. Probably going to buy a set of first lite merino wool to use also. Thanks for the suggestions/advice already given.

Camofire.com for all your Sitka deals, you just have to watch for it.
Ascent is what I wear almost all year long, whether its in early archery or late rifle.

For an all around pant the Sitka accent is tough to beat. I'm on my 4th and 5th pair. They are comfortable from the 30s up through the mid 70s with moderate activity. I've also got 2 pairs of the Kuiu Attack pants. They are very similar. A tad tougher and warmer. Ak thought the new ones have zip vents. I bought a pair of the Kuiu guide pants for late season elk/deer and a pair if the thier warm weather (tibouron I think). Haven't used either yet, but the tibouron look like they will do we'll when it's hot. But the bugs will still get you through them.

LEO adventures is a great place to buy for those who qualify.

I am currently on the market for Sitka gear. I bow hunt opening week on the eastside mostly on the ground. Would you guys recommend the Optifade Open Country or Optifade Forest?

Depend what kind of country you're hunting on the eastside.  If you are lower in the valleys or flat lands, I'd go open country.  If you're higher in elevation in the mountains, I'd go with the forest pattern. :twocents:

I Love my ascent pants! I wear them in winter coyote hunting with a under armour base layer and am perfectly comfortable. Only thing I don't like is everything in my pockets get wet from sweat.
