Good old Game dept! Anyone know if wdfw keeps tabs on wolverines? Should I call them?

Hell no don't call them!  They already spend enough money on these rare guys here in WA and we don't need them wasting more resources and time on them when they could be managing more pressing issues. :twocents:

Pretty sweet you got one on cam though.

you need to tell the game department you seen a wolverine in the  state so they can make it a wolverine recovery area no wolves allowed wolverines need to be protected

Not my picture.  Somebody on NWhikers on a hike up the Chiwawa got a great picture of a wolverine recently.  Came up to within 10 feet of them.

We saw one at about 50 yards in October 2005, two miles south of Cle Elum.

A coworker of mine backcountry skis like crazy. He's definitely a mountain goat in where he goes. He's seen at least one every year since he moved here (4 years ago). One of them killed a pine marten right in front of him. Too bad he never thinks to bring a camera. All his sightings have been between Hwy 20 and I-90. WDFW definitely have a monitoring program. I talked someone from the Yakama Nation that said they have confirmed sightings and hair samples from Mt. Adams.

Yeah there are a few in the state.  The last couple years, there have been photos of wolverines in the area around Scottish lakes High Camp.

I sat and watched a Wolverine for 20 min or so way up The Entiat in 89. It was messing around in a patch of Jack Pines about a 150 yards or so from me across a small ravine.  It would climb up one, then jump to the next.

Here's one for you from the Central Cascades. You will find the conservation groups like to keep an eye on them.

Not too difficult to get into cahoots with fitkin and find out where their den is and get a few trail cams out to capture an image. Are you surprised the photo came from CN?

Nice Pic. No collar. Possibly a female. Most males are collared. When mother nature handled out the fear gene, she overlooked wolverines. I heard the game department has one collared by Mount Adams.

I would frame the picture. Put it on your desk or on a wall.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.
