Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee

 it is imperative that efforts to develop a grizzly bear EIS
and the implementation of any recovery actions not fail due to public concerns
over other large carnivore management in the state, nor that they negatively impact our wolf
recovery program. In addition, WDFW’s ability to engage will require financial  assistance from NPS




so if I can sum this up, We LOVE wolves but they are a lot of trouble.  Grizzly bears will be even more work,,,,, send us money

Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee Meeting: Division Manager Eric Gardner attended an
Interagency Grizzly Bear Meeting (IGBC) in the North Cascades. During the meeting, the
National Park Service (NPS) stated that they hope to be able to make a formal announcement
soon regarding potential plans to develop an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) evaluating
recovery options for grizzly bears in the North Cascades. WDFW expressed a desire to
participate in the process while at the same time communicated 3 specific challenges that will
need to be addressed. One of the issues has to do with a state statute that provides a legal
framework under which WDFW is obligated to work. RCW 77.12.035 Protection of grizzly
bears -- Limitation on transplantation or introduction -- Negotiations with federal and state
agencies (see below) sets some expectations for State involvement and also speaks to the need to
manage using only bears native to Washington. Secondly, it is imperative that efforts to develop
a grizzly bear EIS and the implementation of any recovery actions not fail due to public concerns
over other large carnivore management in the state, nor that they negatively impact our wolf
recovery program. In addition, WDFW’s ability to engage will require financial assistance from
the NPS to allow for staff participation in the process, which is expected to take at least 3 years
to complete if initiated.

If these fires don't get under some kind of control,  NO habitat left, NO need for no stinking Grizzly's!

They're seriously worried the wolves will be negatively impacted by grizzlies? And, these people are managing our wildlife. God, they haven't a clue!
