Beers and Bears? That sounds like my friday evening! This year was my first bear, its so delicious if i have the choice ill shoot a bruin over a buck. I'm (well the wife is) making bear brats with cabbage and getting washed down with a growler of Diamond Knot Industrial IPA  Now i just went and made myself hungry. I'll throw Everett in the mix, Sporty's, Rockin' M BBQ (golf range), dive-ish, cheap beer, big enough for huntin talk, limited exposure to hippies.

Nope...no bears up there either!

 :chuckle:

Some of the biggest spring bears I've seen have come from Skagit.

Skagit County?
Skagit is a busy area.  You might do well up past the nudist camp. Either place you might want to find a decommissioned road or geta couple basins off trail. Do a little Google scouting then go look for berries.  When you find ripe  berries you will be near bears.  They are eating machines right now.

nah....best to stay away from the nudist camp. Much more area up north that is less traveled. Bigger bears as well...did I mention that?

Seriously, lots of good areas to explore in both Snohomish and Skagit. Just about anywhere you can hike/bike that is a bit away from the hikers and hippies, has berries and feed will also have bears.

H20, you neglected to mention that in addition to the hoards of oversized bears, and lack of pink FJ's, the standard bag limits and season regulations are but mere recommendations in the Skag.  :boxin:

Ah yes.

Actually.....if one has a few skills they may just find an article in the Norhtwest Sportsman....Aug Issue....written by Doug Huddle....that is jam packed with road info and starting off points for the north end.

For the OP......you can glean a ton of info on here. Like I mentioned....there is great info in the sticky thread and go back and read a few spring bear threads. You can get some good info just looking at pictures posted. Watch for guys like bearmaniac, billythekidrock, saylean....they are the resident bear experts.

Snohomish or Skagit......wherever....find the food. I think right now it is actually pretty tough hunting. There is food everywhere!

Get out there and put some boots on the ground. Worst case is you have a nice walk. Good luck and shoot straight.
