Headed down to Westport this weekend to do some salmon fishing, in the boat basin. Does anyone have any reports or guidance on what they may bite on? Thanks!!

Listening to a local radio station down there last weekend while making a delivery and they were talking about it. As of Thursday last week, there was a 12 lb silver, 15 lb steal head and 18 lb king (among-st others) caught in the boat basin.

Bait didnt matter, they were being caught on spinners, spoons, herring, and egg under bobbers

Have fun and good luck  :hello:

Fished Johns river today 8 big kings and 2 silvers but had to release them all fun trying ti unhook 25 pound fish. The best basin fishing has been at the islander and the high walk on float 20 there is only about 1 think the works and its called a flying C and the best color is chartreuse with a silver blade thery have them at englund marine I use the 7/8s because they sink faster. Going up to johns river in the morning the best bite is an hour before until an hour after high. Tony the count is 589 going to pull the boat when we hit 600.

Heard some great reports from yesterday! 30 plus fish to some boats, limits of Silvers. Flat water and a long bite.

Took my daughter out first time for her for salmon she reeled in 4 big kings and 2 silvers went by the dock and one guy at the islander had 3 silvers and a jack will be better in another week if it rains even two steelhead caught this past week from the dock. Soon they will be hitting live anchovies under a bobber.

I'm excited , for sure!! Does anyone know where you can get live anchovies? I know there is a pen there, but not sure if they are just supplying the charter boats.

The bait dock is straight across from float 10. $50 for a 10lb scoop.
