JPhelps and BuckLucky's elk hunt

After helping Charlie's wife with her archery elk hunt here in Washington we loaded up and headed for elk camp. We made it just in time to pick up my tag and head to the mountains. After a relatively uneventful morning we were able to finally get a response to a locator bugle. We dropped 1400 ft. elevation in the matter if minutes and were right in his wheel house. After a few cow calls and challenge bugles and closing the distance we had him hooked. He came in on a string and at 6 yards I sent an arrow through the boiler room. My tag was punched within 18 hours of being purchased.
After getting the meat to the cooler, Charlie bought his tag. We headed out to a new area searching for a bull to go after in the morning. We pulled up to the drainage we wanted to and immediately heard bugles and spotted elk feeding on the hillside. The next morning we were able to call a good bull in but couldn't make it happen. That night after relocating the herd we were able to coax a good bull into range and Charlie let the air out of him. Within about 24 hours Charlie had arrowed a bull.
