Would You Rather?

Would you rather hunt or fish?

If you're on this site, you are most likely to choose "hunt," right? But if we don't take some extreme and drastic measures to support our gun rights on November 4th, we will all become fishermen/women.

The fight for gun rights is at a fever pitch and our state is a the frontline in a battle over guns. The opposition wants you to think it's just about gun background checks, but its not. You NEED TO WATCH this video and take action today or start learning how to fish.

I voted "hunt" but I'm wondering how does i594 affect hunting? I know it makes it difficult to get new hunters involved and I see issues with taking my kids hunting, but how would it force me to quit hunting and take up fishing?

I'm just stating that if it passes, then it begins to take us down the road to gun registration, felony charges (if I transfer a gun w/o following the 18 page initiative rules), and eventual gun confiscation. This initiative is a major step in the wrong direction... which is why I asked the question.

In addition, I asked the question through a poll to try to drum up interest. It's hard for me to fathom that there's thousands of members on this site, but only a handful have posted that they're doing anything to take action. I used the poll to draw people in. Thought that this was what the "Outdoor Advocacy Forum" was for?  :twocents:

My sign is hung on my front deck for a month now , I discussed it with people at the fair when asked about the sign I was carrying I got from the NRA booth.
I plan to vote NO

I do not think honestly we can win this one.

too much media stressing how important it is not to allow the domestic abuser easy access to handgun and then stressing to vote yes on I 594

I have talked with liberal friends/aquaintances on this issue. Almost uniformally they have said this is a non issue Why would i oppose this? i have asked them if they have read the bill and/or if they were even slightly worried about registration and confiscation. ALL have taken the Ostrage approch and just stuck thier head in the sand. Several stated that Confiscation could/would never happen in the USA. I pointed out a couple of examples where its already started and they just shook thier head at me.

Of course the majority of people who don't own guns and have no interest in ever owning a gun will be in favor of this.  It all sounds so wonderful when all you know about it is what you see on TV.

Maybe the WA NRA should buy some media time, money talks.  Or do they want to let it pass knowing it will and then fight it in court for a permanent solution?  I just read the initiative and there are some positive things in it but on the flipside there are some things I consider negatives.  I will vote NO because of these, not because somebody else told me to.
The way your statement came across, Silverdalesauer, was to me, the same way the "vote yes" crowd is trying to get their point across, with sensationalism,  "Don't let your step daddy shoot your mom, vote yes 594".
Tell people the facts, let them decide for themselves and accept the fact when democracy functions the way it is supposed to.  :twocents:

Didn't intend it to be sensationalism. Meant only to find some way to get people in to think about this topic. IMHO I think that the initiative wasn't poorly written. It was written that way on purpose to begin the journey of taking our rights away...

Any suggestions on better wording? Feel free to give your  :twocents: and I'll edit the wording so it works.

Thx

I am not the one to be asking for suggestions on how to write anything! LOL.  I usually can't get the right point across without pissing somebody off, unintentionally. I agree with you about it being intentionally written this way.  When you get towards the end of it, on top of all the other requirements, it appears you have to have a CWP to allow the dealer to transfer possession.  Just one more thing to delay transfer.

The sad thing is 90% of the voting public will not read what they vote on, for or against.

Confiscation can and does already happen and NO! it's not just a felon.
I'd get new friends  :chuckle:
