Deer stealers
«
on:
October 11, 2014, 07:59:02 PM »
So at about 8 this morning I was stalking these two bucks fired 2 rounds into this really great 4x4 Muley after that I went about a half mile up a trail to grab my pack I dropped and then took off on the blood trail
About 300 yards from where I shot the deer at the end of the blood trail nothing other than a gut pile. Some low life *censored* decided to steal my deer and I know for a fact there was no shots in that direction. Knowing that it was only about an hour after I shot this guy must have worked very quickly
Gotta love the blue mountains😡😡

You should have tagged it. The thief may have thought you lost it.

There isn't a person alive that could get a deer out from under me that fast unless it was within 100 yds of a road and beings your pack was a half mile away, I'm figuring it wasn't near a road.

Did you at least follow where they drug it out and try to catch up to them?

The road was about 400 yards down this skid road and the deer was at a bottom of a ravine what had happened was the deer took off and I saw them go into the ravine so I went back to grab my pack which was at the top of another ravine and by the time I got to the ravine the deer were all gone and just a gut pile was left with no shots in the area all morning

I am guessing they watched you shoot and leave and figured you were like many others out there who don't follow up on their shots. They probably thought they were doing a good thing by tagging a "wasted" deer.
I have had a deer stolen, so I can understand the anger.

They were able to gut and pack your deer out before you got to it? I don't think they stole it, I bet they thought someone left it or didn't track it and they were not going to let it go to waste.

maybe go tag the deer first before going to retrieve your gear.
