Anacortes buck
« on: October 15, 2014, 08:45:26 AM »
This guy frequents my bro's backyard in Anacortes.  Just a forkie, but I really dig the bases on him.

If his property was just a little bigger...

Buddy lives in Anacortes...said they are definitely rutting. I'd pop that one for sure. Dig the bases as well. Good looking town deer.

Been watching this deer grow over the last few years.  I may try to get an antler catcher set up this winter.  Would love to see how big those bases are now.

This is what fenced yards, apple trees, closeable gates and a bow are good for....   :chuckle:  :chuckle:

:chuckle: pretty small back yard with a steep cliff right below it -  would need a bowfishing setup with SS cable on the spool to keep him from going where I couldn't get him. Or an old whaling harpoon.

You know I was thinking that! If you can't hunt him there, at least maybe you can find those sheds.

That's hilarious, can you imagine how that would go!

There are some pretty amazing bucks inside of town. I have seen some Masher 4 points in the Skyline area. We usually hear a story about some one trying to go sneaky pete and shoot one with a bow.... Normally just a bad shot with a big deer running around with an arrow hanging out of it.  :'(
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I took this shot today about 11 am 3 blocks from the Anacortes post office. :)

He had a doe bedded down not less than five feet from him. Love is in the air.
