Like this?

$10,000 in fines and restitution; six months in jail with work release; four years probation; 150 hours of community service; nationwide revocation of hunting, gun-owning privileges for three years; levied in 2005, against Michael James Gates, of Yakima, Wash., for killing a trophy-class bull elk and two mule deer while hunting illegally in southeast Washington in October 2002.

Yep. That works

Impressed the hell outta me: http://wgfd.wyo.gov/web2011/news-1002329.aspx
Send that to WDFW  maybe they will listen
People need to realize it's not WDFW that is soft on poachers, it's the prosecutors and judges.

If you illegally shoot a doe you must pay $2,000 to WDFW upon conviction. Then you face the criminal fine of UP TO $5,000 and UP TO 364 days in jail. So realistically you could be in jail for a year and pay out $7,000 for shooting a doe.

Unfortunately most prosecutors and judges just say the $2,000 is enough and close the case. The reason for the mandatory payment to WDFW is because before that penalties were even worse so they asked the legislature for a mandatory civil fine upon conviction.

The penalties are there, they just aren't dished out....

I would hope that most do. I don't think many wardens get into the profession just to go easy on poachers... :chuckle:
