Is this a triploid or broodstock rainbow trout?

Okay- this had me interested enough to do a little research.

So what I am guessing is the fish in the pic is either a really frustrated male triploid with his 'sperm duct blocked' (ouch!), or the other male/female triploid...which is too strange for words.

Even more interesting. Every one I have caught and have seen caught was there or raised from rufus as well. From 1 to 29 plus lbs and still never seen a hook. Several hundred over 9 lbs as well.

That is one gnarly looking fish .Ive probably only caught 20 triploids but none have ever had pink meat, all white. I don't think they last long enough in our westside stagnant lakes. I wanna see how this fish cut! I like the variety of items on his bench.Bible , pill bottle, big ugly slimy fish

  I've caught quite a few trips on Rufus over the last eight years or so, no hooked jaws.  Not nearly as many as mtnmuley, but enough of the bigger ones to share his opinion.

I don't anymore. It's the state record a friend caught. Was well over 30  before he got It to a certified scale. I'll see if It can get a pic of it in a kiddy pool with ice. Amazing sight for sure.

Nice fish what ever it is!  Looks like a de-formed diploid....A huge misunderstanding is big fish = triploid.

Well, thank you for all the comments- scientific, funny, honest and complimentary.  Yes, it isn't the prettiest looking fish. 
It beat getting skunked that day though and it was fun to catch.

SO..... the question some people wanted answered, including myself, was how did it taste?  I am happy to report that it tasted just fine.  It wasn't mushy and baked at 350 in the oven with the standard of lemon, butter, salt, pepper and some parsley it was good.  Not awesome but it didn't have to go to the dogs so I am thankful for that.
