Just saw a trail cam video of a blacktail buck with an arrow sticking out of its head. I read posts from guys stating that elk and deer are taken this way all the time. This seems a bit on the irresponsible side of thinking.

Sort of like long range hunting?

How about you read what my long range hunting is and then make comments like that. out of a backpack burning leather not shooting long distances. It is good that you assume though which makes total sense, you are a sitka blacktail.

"You are a sitka blacktail"

Wth? Some kind of insult? Mr. Longrange you have many people confused here. You appear to simply start threads to stir things up. For example your baiting thread shows two YouTube links that are the most extreme cases of people baiting, no...feeding, pet deer. They are not hunting and do not show hunters that ethically bait deer. Since you mentioned your "explanation thread" you appear to be very concerned about proving and going to great lenghts to post and prove your opinions. You are a bit of a flip-flopper and appear.....appear being the key word to illustrate our collective opinions of your posts....to simply post for the purpose of causing a ruckus. Then, when questioned you throw soft insults and act insulted.

You're posts lately make me wonder whether or not you are in favor of hunting at all.

Interestingly, the OP hasn't been back to respond to any allegations that he had other than good intentions, when starting this thread...

If I found myself being accused of something, that I wasn't guilty of, you'd best bet I'd be responding, forthwith! However, if I were being accused of something, that I WAS guilty of, I'd probably be feeling ashamed, and not likely to respond as quickly...

Like I already said.  Facebook is full of fakes.  Most of the people saying they've heard of this from there brothers cousin have never set foot in the field.  That's why they mostly refer to the friend of a friend that took a head shot.  and the guys whoy say they have done it are probably liars or ignorant.  Its only when you come to a real hunting site that the users acutally hunt.  You can make a quick look at this thread and see not many hunters take that chance

Just look at the posts of guys shooting pigs in the head straight on...Yeah right!!!  Maybe out of a treestand with his head down feeding you could get lucky on a pig.  Straight on from the ground is about as close to impossible as an archery shot gets.  Elk and deer follow that by only a small degree.  Facebook, like most of the internet is filled with wannabes and dreamers!!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

You all crack me up. Everyone taking my name literally made me a long range hunter. I mean if that is what it says, must be. So a name like sitka blacktail, I will take it literally and think you are a crazy smart blacktail that has access to a computer.

Facebook like it or not is a public forum just as this one is. To claim without knowing everyone on that fb page as well as this forum that people are fake on that page is a fallacy.

I was asked for proof of feeding deer, youtube, facebook, those videos are of real life wild deer conditioned to people feeding them. All those videos meant to show is that just like Ivan Pavlov and his dogs, animals can be conditioned.

gobble gobble gobble- great to see you are not trying to just stur things up.

No problem, I will load up a few hundred 168 gr hpbt and start shooting out to a 1000 yards since that is what everyone thinks I do.
This is great conversation though and you are right, i have to make sure my stance is known so here it is. I am against baiting/feeding, ME personally against it HOWEVER if other hunters want to do that, go right on doing it.

If you think age brings knowledge or some how deserves respect based on their own opinions, I will ask this forum what is a "hunter". There are a lot of pros in the media, of all ages and genders. The young female who came under fire for killing a lion. I guess she is too young to know anything? Melissa bachman, under fire for killing a lion as well. Eva shockey for killing a bear in NC. Those 3 ladies have done more hunting than most on this forum and are half the age. I guess they dont know anything. Wolves thread for example, people (HUNTERS) are questioned about their validity as a hunter as soon as they post something that others disagree with. That is how the bay of pigs SNAFU happened, everyone agreeing with everyone. In case you have not noticed, I do not agree with what everyone says. I'm man enough to say, I misspoke in my original post stating,," deer and elk are taken this way all the time" my own opinion, any big game being taken intentionally with a head shot with archery equipment is irresponsible. Same with those that shoot at running game animals and say they practice shooting at running game(moving targets) which is why they are able to do this. It was also stated they would go hunting with an semi auto so they could get more shots off.

Now after all that said, have at me gentlemen and ladies.

Nothing to explain- the entire comment:

" same guys complain when they don't catch anything except trash. I cannot wait until there are no more fish and game to catch and hunt" I guess you are not fluent in sarcasm.

So you agree with guys going out and shooting up hunting areas with others around them trying to call in waterfowl?
