Illuminated nocks
« on: December 11, 2014, 07:35:49 PM »
Bravo to Washington for making illuminated nocks legal.  Got my first experience with them this year and was able to be party to at least 3 shots where they really helped matters.  One deer that we believed was missed until we saw the luminock working its way through some rimrock... deer recovered.  One arrow found that would not of been found otherwise... miss confirmed.  And, one just really cool visual of a perfect shot on a buck... deer recovered, though the recovery was not in question.  Great decision and they will be on my own arrows next year.

This is a pic grab from a video taken with a sony handy cam (that's why quality sucks) of my nephews first deer kill. I have never been interested in using them.......until I saw this. Pretty cool.

I used them this year. Didn't really need them on the deer I killed but it did help to see the hit. The deer died with out leaving my sight.

Now if they would legalize mechanical broadheads for deer I will be really happy. :twocents:

Recovered an arrow post pass through this season, considering the terrain, I can't say I'd have found it if not for the lighted nock.
At the very least, it made arrow recovery much easier.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

Can't fool an internet expert nock nock, nice try though. :chuckle: good for the nephew on his first deer. With a bow, the way it should be. Good to know the lighted nocks are helping to gather valuable info about the shot in question or just making cool tracer effects.  8) if it helps guys with quarter til' O'dark thirty shots that's cool too. For shot placement education/reassurance  and blood tracking reasons I think this might help to recover more animals for folks. And that's a win for all bowhunters.

Since you never quite know where your arrow is going with lighted nocks...it's good to be able to see where they went :chuckle:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Rad, I thought I was the only one shooting arrows stuffed into a muzzleloader :chuckle: :chuckle:

Years ago when they first opened an early archery only elk hunt, they actually busted a guy doing this up the Colockum.  :yike: :yike:
