The reason I posted the question above......If all these guys were getting caught "obviously tresspassing" why wouldnt' they rip the camera down to get rid of the evidence?  It maybe lends credibility to the fact that they are good guys walking a property line thinking they are OK / not trespassing.  My experience with trespassers on a friends property....is they try and destroy the camera after being caught.  They don't want evidence that they are breaking the law.   :dunno: :dunno:

Fair question in my book....   I personally would not walk a property line that was not clearly defined.  With that said, I know a lot of guys who try....and they are not bad guys, just not using good judgement IMO.

What part of them literally driving their car through an orchard with apples falling off of their car makes whether they are on public or private land questionable? I've never seen an orchard full of groomed apple trees on public land.

Read my previous post that addresses the car.

Actually it's possible to have apple orchards on DNR land- it could be leased out for that purpose. Not that that would make it okay to drive through the orchard, but walking might be okay. I'm not saying that's the case here, just that it is possible. I know lots of DNR land is leased out for vineyards, and of course wheat is another big one. So just because there's an orchard doesn't necessarily mean it's private land.

Just find it interesting that this piece of property has so many tresspassers every year.  Wondering why that is....and came up with a few plausible situations.   :dunno:

I wondered the same thing. There must be a nearby parking area or trail or something that makes these people feel that it is ok.

I agree. There must be some reason it's so popular with hunters. The idea that they may be walking right along the boundary of public and private makes a lot of sense. I still have to wonder why they need beer.  :chuckle:

It's popular with hunters because it's Entiat and regularly full of bucks, and I will say it again, ITS POSTED ALL OVER THE PLACE, including where these guys are. There is no way to get to this spot without seeing the signs, and the cameras all well mounted.

A WDFW employee was caught in there yesterday, trespassing looking for sheds, in the middle of the day and obviously didn't give two *censored*s. He was confronted and told it was his one and only warning and to stay out or his superiors will be contacted next time. We have his name and know exactly where he works, so if you are reading this, next time everyone on here will know who you are too.

And for those looking for excuses, yes he admitted he saw the signs and knew it was private, yet came up with a lame ass excuse that he "was just going to cut through".

If you do not have permission then stay out, if you do not know if it's private or not, stay out until you do the research, it's not rocket science guys.

With all the snow and the deer in the orchards I would say you are going to see several more folks looking for sheds as well. When we were over that way last month the orchards were full of deer if there is not a fence to keep people out I would bet there will be  a LOT more as access must be fairly easy for the illiterate and unethical if it a posted as you say. Good luck keeping them out, owning property we do not live at on the east side we see a fair amount of trespassing on our cams as well. Good luck.

Why would you give a WDFW employee a second chance?

Is he any less worthy of a second chance as the rest of them, simply because he works for WDFW? :dunno:

He is not the only government employee in this thread that has been caught, contacted, and been given a second chance. Everyone deserves one, let's just hope they realize how much they potentially have to lose if they do it again. ;)

WDFW almost never gives Sportsmen a second chance.  I would return the favor :)
