New 336ss today
« on: January 10, 2015, 03:36:05 PM »
I picked up a new marlin 336ss today as i couldn't bring myself to drill holes in my 1886 winchester. So this will be my foul weather gun.I will be mounting my leupold vx-2 1.5-4x28 scout scope to this one.when it isn't raining i will use the 1886 with a lyman peep sight mounted in factory holes. :)

That rifle looks great in stainless!   Great choice of scope too.  One of the few scouts available that goes below 2x.  I have one with Alumina caps on a Remington 600 and am very happy with it.

I keep coming back to drool over this gun. Good choice. The mods would have no choice but to drop the ban hammer if you drilled holes in the 1886.  :bdid:

Caliber?
30-30win it's the only caliber available i really wish they offered it in 35rem.I had thought of sending it to JES reboring to have it converted to .356win but i might just leave it 30-30.
