Just was reading this and had a picture of one in a Hancock. By the time my buddy got to his shop the beaver rubbed a spot. The hide was fine at first but he couldn't dispatched until he got back the the shop. I never had one rub but I can see it happening.
What part of the beaver had damage to the fur? I've caught dozens in my Hancock and have never had an issue. Also, never used it as a drown set. The swim throughs are slick though!! Quick sets, produce well.
Boar looking for Sow to hunt with. LOL

Swim throughs from Bruce and Jesse are the way to go and like said I've had no fur damage at all !!! They are light weight and fast to set and you can use them on land as a blind set in a trail I personally will never spend the money on a Hancock style trap just too heavy, bulky for me. The only thing I'm changing on my swim through cages is I'm going to at least a 14 gauge wire mesh my :twocents:
