I read this website on Badger Mountain. They list "Elevation: Start 846 feet, Summit: 1582 feet, Total Ascent 1038 feet.". Guessing there is some up and down to get their numbers, or they have fuzzy math.

Nice to have that stuff in the back yard close for exercise.

so you guys are starting on the dallas road side? I haven't started from there before, I have been up the "front" a few times, starting at the park. but that was awhile ago, and about 80# ago, gonna start hiking it again soon.

No, I live in Washougal. I hike the Cape Horn trail just down the road from my house. I was reading your reports of conditioning hikes and it sounded similar to my stuff so I was curios. I do 50# or 60# most times(bag of wood pellets and weight plates or gallon of water), but have done 110# more or less as a stunt (roped tractor weights and weight plates onto my pack board).

Sorry Shawn, we were in the Blues chasing a bear for Silk.

The Wenaha with Silk was undoubtedly a better place.  I saw a couple other backpackers on Saturday, but no one else on Sunday. Next time I'm over there, I'll see if any local guys are available.

I'm in town for the weekend and intend to do HH tomorrow morning, if you want to join me. I can be a little flexible on the timing, but want to start before 8:00. I'll carry 40-50 pounds and have a dog or two with me.

Sorry guys, wish I was there to hike with you. I'm in Port Angeles this weekend for a running race and Silk is in the Blues chasing bears.

Good job, man.

I did a run on Saturday with family and friends along a Kennewick ditch, then on Sunday took two of my sisters up HH.  One farmed up there for 35 years, but had never hiked the trail.  When you drive the hill twice a day, there's less incentive to walk it.
